Module Management

There are many different modules in the Smart CMS, all with different functionality as seen in the Available Modules Section.  This management guide however will just give you a general overview of how to configure modules and edit their content.  Some of the options you have when working with modules are as follows:
  • Configure Module  : This option is available to all modules, and the configuration options are exactly the same as when creating a new module.  See 'inserting modules' on the CMS Modules page for details on these options.
  • Special Configure  : Some modules have extra configuration options specific to that module which are accessed with this icon.
  • Order Modules   : If you have more than one module on a page, you can choose the order that they appear in with the up and down arrows on each module, which moves the module up or down one slot in the order of modules.
  • User / Group Permissions   : If you have been given the permissions yourself, you can allocate permissions to other users or groups of users.  Every module has different permissions, however there may be permissions to add, edit, delete items, or to configure the module.  Also, the 'Administrate' permission is on most modules and it gives the user permissions to assign permissions themselves.  Note the permissions for inserting, deleting, ordering and configuring modules are set on the Container Module holding all the other modules.
  • Edit Content : Most modules will let you edit some content or a specific item.  What happens exactly may differ between modules, but mostly it will let you edit the item / text in the WYSIWYG editor.
