Standalone Pages

Standalone pages are really the same as normal content pages, except that they don't appear in the main site hierarchy.  They are however, accessible by anyone who knows where they are, so you can still use them like normal pages.  You can create your own links to standalone pages, which would then include them in the website, they just wouldn't be in your main navigation.

To create a new Standalone page simply press the "New Standalone Page" button.  The form is very similar to a new content page form, which is explained in Page Creation.

Another use of standalone pages is to create a page that you don't want to be immediately viewable in the navigation.  You can first add all of the content you want on the page before making it live in the site navigation with the "Move Standalone Page" form.

Below is shown the standalone pages tab.  As you can see its very similar to the main hierarchy tab, except that you can't re-order the pages (because standalone pages have no order).  Also, when you delete a page under this tab, they are deleted permanently, so make sure you really want to delete a page before you do.
